Closed Circuit Rebreather

Want to experience total silence underwater or longer dives with smaller bottles? Find out if rebreather diving is right for you!

Once only available for the military and commercial diving, rebreathers are changing how the world dives. Not only are they being used for pushing the limits in exploration, photographers are also using them to get closer to marine life and capturing “never before” seen footage. Besides being silent, CCRs can maximize your gas supply and provide an optimum breathing gas for any depth by maintaining a constant partial pressure of oxygen. It is like having a nitrox blending machine on your back!

This is the entry level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) O2ptima Specific, either in back mount counter lung or chest mount models. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills, using air as a diluent. This course can be taught with or with out decompression.

Course Length: 5 days minimum. Minimum of 60 minutes confined water training, Minimum of 420 minutes open water training to be completed over a minimum of 7 dives. Unit Crossover 2 1/2 days

Maximum Depth: 30meters/100feet no deco, 40 meters/130feet with deco

Costs: Diving a CCR is a serious commitment. That is why we require you to own your own rebreather to take this course. Therefore we make it a no headache process by combining the unit and training into a complete package. Everything is included with no additional costs. O2ptima CCR (back mount counter lungs) and training is $10,875. O2ptima CM CCR (chest mount counter lungs) and training is $7675 with Shearwater wrist controller or $8375 with Shearwater NERD. If additional training is required past the included 5 days, the cost is $200 per day plus cost of consumables. Please contact us for training prices for a “unit crossover” or if you bought your unit elsewhere and want to complete your training with us.
